About Us

The company in its present format was incorporated in 2006.  Its founding member, Kevin Aylward, began work in the energy industry with Manweb in 1989, prior to the deregulation of the electricity and gas markets. 

During his time with Manweb and, after its takeover by Scottish Power, he worked in a wide range of roles, from the day to day customer service operations to managing numerous billing system projects.  These included the testing and validation of Y2K compliance, the creation of master and sub-meter billing relationships and overseeing the migration of the business accounts to a new billing system.  

He left Scottish Power in 2002 setting up as an independent energy auditor. The company’s sole purpose was the recovery of overcharges and correction of billing errors on energy accounts.  Energy procurement was added following the request by a number of clients whose previous experiences had led them to be more cautious.  Further requests have led to the addition of account management, bespoke billing systems and dispute resolution to the services that are offered.

In 2010, Stephen Muir was appointed as a director of the company.  Having worked for several organisations, the last being British Gas, which he left in 2005 to take up his position with EG-Audit, he has overseen the project management of EG-Audit’s billing systems.  Stephen is also an integral part of the company’s auditing team. 

EG-Audit has clients in property management, manufacturing, retail, leisure, entertainment, rural estates, agriculture and healthcare.
