Frequently Asked Questions

Audit

What does an audit cost?

An audit is undertaken on a no win no fee basis and any refunds or amendments obtained as a result of our findings is charged at 50%. Refunds expected to be in excess of £50,000 can be charged at a negotiated rate.

How long does an audit take?

This is entirely dependant on the nature of the findings and the suppliers involved.

Can my previous suppliers’ invoices be audited?

Yes, suppliers are still liable for billing errors after their period of supply has ended.

How many years’ invoices can be audited?

Usually, as many as are available, however, refunds can generally only be claimed for overcharges that have occurred in the last 6 years.

My previous supplier has gone in to administration; can I still claim a refund?

Yes, any overcharges are refundable on invoices paid after the date of administration.

Will an audit reduce my carbon footprint?

An audit can highlight areas in which energy reductions can be made.

Account Management

What does the Account Management service cost?

£200 per site per annum.

How does the service work?

The service is offered on completion of an audit - it is virtually an ongoing audit of the energy accounts; any overcharges and problems are dealt with as they occur at no extra cost to the annual fee. This maintains the accuracy of the billing and account data.

Procurement

Do you charge for savings on contract renewals?

No.

What is the charge for arranging an energy contract?

We are paid on commission by the supplier.

If I change supplier will the power be interrupted?

No, accounts transfer using agreed readings between the suppliers, which is just a paper exercise.

If I move premises or cease trading does my contract end?

Yes, the contract should end with the reading taken on your last day at the premises.

If I give Notice of Termination do I have to leave my current supplier?

No, you will be able to stay with your current supplier, but you must give notice in order to be able to transfer to another supplier if their offer is preferable.

Billing Solutions

How much does a billing system cost?

It is entirely dependent on the requirements of the system.

What is the process to develop a billing system?

Find out about bespoke billing solutions.

Do you offer support for the billing systems?

Yes, all systems have a support option.

Supplier Dispute Resolution

How much does it cost to resolve a dispute?

The method of charging is case dependent. Please call the office to discuss the charging options.

I am disputing my account with the supplier, should I continue to pay the supplier’s invoices?

Payment should be suspended and retained until resolution of the dispute is achieved.

Green Energy

What advice do you offer on Green Energy issues and Carbon Reduction?

We strongly advise an audit of your energy accounts is undertaken prior to any energy/carbon reduction measures are implemented; a true calculation of the results of any such measures can not be realised without first confirming that the metering/billing of the account is operating correctly.
